Akbar Carpet Buildings-
The first building built during Akbar’s reign is the tomb of Humayun in Delhi. Though he had no hand in its construction.
Humayun’s Tomb-
- This mausoleum is situated on a high terrace in the center of a geometric quadrangle garden. It was the first architectural monument built in the four-garden system.
- Humayun’s tomb was constructed in 1565 AD. Humaunu’s widow bega Begum (Haji Begum) started.
- This is the first tomb of India, with double dome.
- For the first time, four-garden system was used by Humayun’s tomb, but in India the tomb of the first Baggrabar was the tomb of Sikandar Lodi.
- This tomb is considered the forerunner of the Taj Mahal.
The people of Mughal houses buried in Humayun’s Tomb are as follows:
Begagaibam, Hamidabadu Begum, Humayun’s younger Begum, Dara Shikoh, Jadhdarshah, Farrukhshiyyar, RafiurDarhat, Rafiuddaula and Alamgir II. British Lieutenant Hudson of 1857 AD to the last Mughal emperor Bahadur Shah Zafar of Delhi and his three princes. In the Humayun’s tomb was arrested.
This tomb was constructed by Akbar’s stepmother, Haji Begum, under the supervision of Persian architect Mirak Mirza Gayas.
This tomb was characterized by its large dome and binge system created from marble.
This is the only Mughal’s tomb, in which the majority of the people of the Mughal dynasty have been buried.
This tomb has been called the forerunner of the Taj Mahal.
Akbar carpet buildings use the same proportion of the Mehrabi and Shhatiri style.
In the time of Akbar, the Persian style was blended with Hindu and Buddhist styles. The use of red sandstone is used in the vast majority of Akbar’s buildings.
