Bahramshah was a Muslim Turkish ruler who was the Sultan of Delhi. Bahramshah was of Ghulam dynasty. By overthrowing Razia Sultan, the Turkish chieftains seized Muizuddin Bahrmashah on the throne of Delhi (1240-1242 AD).

It was the son of Iltutmish and Razia’s brother.

1.Naayab-e-Mumalikat’s post-

This post was created in the time of Bahrmashah. The officer in this position had all the powers of Sultan. In order to reduce the rights of the Sultan, the Ottoman chiefs created this post. Malik Ikhtiyaruddin Etagin was established for the first time. The power of Ikhtiyaruddin Eighteen in the time of the posthumous power increased so much that he like the Sultan in front of his palace And had started keeping the elephant. Baharam Shah got disturbed by this act and killed him.

After the death of Etegine, all the rights of Naib came under the control of ‘Amir-e-Hajib’ Badruddin Sankar Rumi Khun. Because of his conspiracy to murder Sultan, he and Sardar Syed Tajuddin were murdered. 2. For the first time in 1241 AD, the Mongols attacked the Punjab under the leadership of Swa Bahadur –

In 1241 AD, the army sent by the Mongol invaders for protection during the invasion of Punjab was foiled against Baharamshah.

The army turned back to Delhi and in May, 1241 AD, Turk chiefs captured Delhi and killed Bahrmashah.

Turk chiefs made Bahawarshah’s grandson Alauddin Masoodshah the next sultan.
