Syed Dynasty (1414-1451AD.)

Khizrakha established the Syed dynasty after the Tughlaq dynasty and ruled till the defeat of the Lodi dynasty. Syed Dynasty was the fourth line of the Delhi Sultanate.

This family is considered to be the descendant of Syed or Muhammad Gauri. Due to the frequent invasions of Timur, the Central leadership of the Delhi Sultanate was totally defeated. After this, in a turbulent time, when there was no central power, Sayyid expanded his power in Delhi.

Four different rulers of this lineage led the Delhi Sultanate.

This dynasty was founded by Khizr Khan, who was appointed by the Governor of Multan (Punjab region) by Timur. Khizr Khan took the power of Delhi from Daulat Khan Lodhi and established the Syed Dynasty.

The rulers of the Syed dynasty were following-

Khizr Khan (1414-1421 AD) –

Khizrkhan took the title of Rayat-A-Ala (Chief of the Peasants) instead of Sultan. He considered himself to be the guardian of Timur’s successor Shahrukh Mirza.

Mubarak Shah (1421-1434 AD) –

It protected Yahiya-bin-Ahmed Sirhind who wrote the Tarikh-A-Mubarakshahi text in Persian language. This text is the only contemporary treatise of the Syed dynasty, which provides information about Syed dynasty.

Muhammad Shah (1434-1445 AD.) –

During its reign, the ruler of Malwa, Mahmud Khaliji invaded Delhi, to prevent him, the Mughammad asked his officer, Baholol Lodi for help. And Baholol Lodi got the khaane-jahaan

he gave the title.

Alamshah (1445-1451 AD) –

During this time the kingdom of Sultanate was only 20 kos away from Delhi. (Until Palam)

There was a saying about its empire – the kingdom of Sultanate from Alam to Palam.

In 1451 AD, Alam Shah left power in favor of Baholol Lodi and went to Badayun (UP) himself.
