History of Prithvishen II

After the Vakataka ruler Narendrashen his son Prithvishen-II (460-480 AD) became the king of the dominant branch of the Vakataka dynasty. In his Balaghaat article he is called Maharaaj, Which makes it clear that he was Vaishnav. The same article shows that he had twice revived the extinct Lakshmi of the vakataka dynasty.

But we do not know which enemies he defeated. It seems that he succeeded against the Nal and Traikut(Southern Gujarat) Vanshi kings and saved his kingdom from their invasions.
Prithvishen-II was the last ruler of principal branch of Vakatakas.

After that, his kingdom passed into the hands of the Harsishan of the Basim branch.
