Gandar is a famous medal in Jain philosophy. Ganadhar is a person who holds the Gana of religion. That is, they can be called as disciples of Tirthankara.Ganadhar must be well versed in Twelve organs. There were many Ganaths of each Tirthankar.

Mahavir Swami founded a union during his lifetime, which included 11 followers of the 11th Guru, he was called the Gandhar. The president of this union was Mahavir Swami.

In the life span of Mahavir Swami, 10 ganadharon died. The last Gandhar who lived till Mahavira Swami was named Sudharmn. After the death of Mahavir Swami, the president of the Sangh became Sudharmn. Under these Ganadhar , Mahavir Swamy sent his disciples for preaching.

11 The names of the Ganadhar, clan and place are as follows:
  1. Indrabhuti Gautama  (Gourvagrama)
  2. Agnibhumi Gautam (Gourvagrama)
  3. Vawubhoomi Gautam (Gourvagram)
  4. Mandikaputra Vashishta Maurya (sannivesh)
  5. vyakt Bharadwaj kolek (sannivesh)
  6. Sudharmn Agnivaseen Kollak (sannivesh)
  7. Bhomaputra Kaskava Maurya (Mithila)
  8. akampit Gautama  (Mithila)
  9. achalabhraata hibhaan (kosal)
  10. Prabhas Kondinya (Rajgriha)

These were all Ganthar Brahmins. This shows that in the time of Mahavira Swami, ideological revolution was initiated in Brahmins only.
