Damodargupt

After the death of Kumargupt, his son Damodargupt became the ruler. His rival ruler of Maukhari dynasty was Sarvavarma. Sarvavarma was the son of Ishanvarma. To revenge his father’s defeat, he attacked on Damodargupt and killed him in battle. The Afsdh article states that Damodargupta disintegrated the ghats of the madman-driven elephants of the Maukhari army who defeated the Huns in the battlefield. He fainted and then woke up with the pleasant touch of Paipankaj from the brothers who chose him as her husband.

The name of the king of Maukhari is not found here. But he refers only to Sarvavarma who was a contemporary of Damodargupt. Damodargupt was defeat in this war and the result of his defeat was that Magadh passed from the authority of the uttargupt and went into the hands of the Maukharis. The authority of Sarvavarma over Magadha is also confirmed by the article Devavarnak. Now the kingdom of uttargupt confined only to Malwa and its surrounding region.

Damodargupt was the nutritious and benevolent ruler of brahmandharm. It has been said in the article of Afsdh, that he got many Brahmin girls married and donated one hundred grams (Agrhar) to the Brahmins.
